Description
Rishabh PL96 KW Meter
Rishabh PL96 KW Meter is a customised analogue panel instrument designed to display active electrical power in generator panels, SCR control panels, synchronising systems and industrial power-management equipment. The meter has a dial calibrated from -200 kW through zero to +2000 kW and operates from a low-level moving-coil input signal ranging from -0.1 mA through zero to +1.0 mA full-scale deflection.
The asymmetrical scale provides a limited negative power range and a substantially larger positive power range. This arrangement is suitable for systems in which active power may flow in either direction while the principal operating range remains on the positive side of the scale.
The instrument has a nominal 96 × 96 mm square front size and is intended for panel mounting. Its analogue pointer gives operators a clear and immediate indication of active-power magnitude and direction without requiring digital configuration, menu navigation or an auxiliary display.
Rishabh PL96 KW Meter with Customised Power Scale
The dial is marked from -200 kW to +2000 kW, with a clearly indicated zero position between the negative and positive sections. The negative section represents reverse active-power flow, while the positive section indicates forward active power up to 2000 kW.
The Rishabh PL96 KW Meter uses a customised scale that must be matched with the output characteristic of the associated power transducer. The meter itself does not calculate three-phase active power and must not be connected directly to generator voltage or current circuits.
A compatible external kW transducer measures the relevant voltage, current and phase relationship in the electrical system. It then converts the calculated active-power value into the low-level DC current signal required by the panel meter.
Because the scale and basic movement are specifically matched, replacement selection must include the complete dial range, input-current range, zero position, polarity and accuracy specification. A meter with the same physical dimensions but a different movement will not provide a correct indication.
-0.1 to +1.0 mA Basic Movement
The meter uses a sensitive moving-coil mechanism with a specified signal range from -0.1 mA through zero to +1.0 mA FSD. A zero-milliamp input corresponds to the zero-kilowatt position on the customised scale.
At the specified negative input limit of -0.1 mA, the pointer indicates approximately -200 kW. As the transducer output increases through zero and becomes positive, the pointer moves toward the positive section of the dial. At +1.0 mA full-scale input, the meter indicates approximately +2000 kW.
The input terminals of the Rishabh PL96 KW Meter must be connected only to the corresponding low-level DC output of a compatible active-power transducer. Applying an incorrect voltage, excessive current or a direct power-circuit connection may damage the sensitive movement.
Correct polarity is essential. Reversing the positive and negative input connections can cause the pointer to move in the wrong direction and may produce an incorrect interpretation of imported or exported active power.
Class 1 Measurement Accuracy
This customised meter is specified as Accuracy Class 1. The accuracy class identifies the permitted indication error under the applicable reference conditions for the complete measuring arrangement.
For accurate operation, the Rishabh PL96 KW Meter should be installed vertically and connected according to the original terminal polarity and panel wiring. The accuracy of the displayed kW value also depends on the accuracy, calibration and condition of the external power transducer.
An incorrect transducer ratio, mismatched voltage or current-transformer input, reversed phase connection or incorrect scaling can result in an inaccurate reading even when the panel meter itself is operating correctly.
96 × 96 mm Panel-Mount Construction
The instrument has a nominal front size of 96 × 96 mm, making it suitable for standard industrial switchboard, generator-panel and machinery-console layouts. The square format allows it to be installed alongside frequency meters, voltmeters, ammeters, power-factor meters and other analogue indicators.
The standard panel format allows the Rishabh PL96 KW Meter to fit compatible 96 × 96 mm instrument locations. Before replacement, the installer should verify the panel cutout, rear mounting depth, terminal arrangement, available clearance and fixing method.
The PL series uses a moving-coil pointer mechanism, a linear scale and a moulded panel-mount enclosure. Its knife-edge pointer and extended scale length provide clear visual resolution for monitoring changes in active electrical power.
Generator Panel and SCR Applications
The Rishabh PL96 KW Meter is suitable for active-power indication in compatible generator control panels, SCR panels, synchronising panels, power-distribution systems and industrial electrical installations.
In generator applications, the positive section of the scale can indicate active power delivered by the generator to the connected system. A negative reading may indicate reverse power, imported power or a motoring condition. The exact meaning depends on the transducer configuration, terminal polarity and original control-panel design.
Monitoring negative power is particularly important in generator systems because unintended reverse-power operation may indicate that the prime mover is no longer supplying sufficient mechanical power. Any protection or trip function, however, is normally performed by a separate reverse-power relay rather than by the indicating meter itself.
In SCR and industrial power-control installations, the analogue meter can provide continuous indication of the active-power signal generated by a compatible measuring transducer. The pointer allows operators to identify gradual load changes and abnormal power-flow direction quickly.
Important Replacement Requirements
The Rishabh PL96 KW Meter is a customised indicating instrument. Selecting a replacement based only on the 96 × 96 mm front size or the maximum 2000 kW scale value is not sufficient.
The replacement meter should match the original -200 to +2000 kW dial, -0.1 to +1.0 mA movement, offset-zero position, Class 1 specification, polarity and terminal arrangement. The external transducer must also be configured to produce the corresponding output signal.
A conventional 0 to 1 mA meter cannot directly replace this product because it does not provide the required negative indication. Similarly, a centre-zero meter with equal negative and positive ranges would not correctly reproduce the specified asymmetrical scale.
Before removing the existing meter, technicians should record the terminal connections, confirm the transducer output, isolate the circuit and verify the relationship between input-current polarity and the required power-flow direction.
